Super serum

the Antidote to... thin, fragile skin

by Beatrice Aiden

Not much would take me to a greenhouse in Iceland growing barley, but EFG BioEffect Serum is such a phenomenal skincare brand that I somehow find myself there, staring intently at the plants. Why? EGF is the acronym for Epidermal Growth Factors; although controversially in the past sourced from human cells, BioEffect mimics the human molecules from said barley plants.  EGF, a protein that naturally occurs in the skin but slows down production as we age, is boosted with the topical application of the serum, increasing collagen production and cell turnover.

Studies have shown that using just one drop twice a day on its own increases the skin’s thickness by 60%. An added bonus is that the serum firms and tightens the skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and improves texture. A testament to the efficacy of BioEffect EGF is that its sales on British Airways flights outstrip those of perfume, all other skincare and – gasp! – even fags and booze.
