Body beautiful

the Antidote to... your repetitive fitness routine

Bodyism founder James Duigan’s newest haunt is in the old post office on Westbourne Grove, perfectly placed to attract the crème de la crème of Notting Hill from day one – yummy mummies, models and actresses, fitness fanatics and of course his loyal Bodyism followers, who swear by the clean and lean way of life.

And it’s not hard to see why. The interior is cosy: muted tones and dim lighting combined with plenty of plants. You’ll discover beautiful products from Susanne Kaufmann in the changing rooms and Bodyism’s own supplements, Positive Mantra teas and workout gear in the upstairs cafe, where you can chow down a healthy yet satisfying brunch of acai bowls, courgetti, toasties and clean and lean cookies. There’s even a treatment room where you can enjoy specialist massages and facials as well as micronutrient infusions.

Next up is a gruelling workout – the Bodyism way. This technique promotes a more flowing, elegant approach to exercise, even for the most ungraceful. Class choices are B-Free or B-Calm Yoga, Bodyism Ballet, Bodyism Boxing, Clean & Lean and Clean & Lean Warrior. Bodyism Boxing starts off with a warm-up, followed by your usual boxing moves with a twist – punching along to house music tunes in a boxing-meets-dance routine. Finally, you pair up for some one-on-one practice and end with a circuit including squats and planking. Classes are small so there’s literally no opportunity to drift off or lurk in the shadows. Finish off with a Body Brilliance shake and you’ll emerge feeling toned, healthy and smug. After just one session.

Bodyism Notting Hill, 222-224 Westbourne Grove, W11 2RH
