The time has come to whip out your favourite sunscreen and enjoy that ‘summer in a bottle’ scent. This year however, we’re topping it up with a scented bronzing powder. Normally we aren’t huge fans of scented make-up but these two are quite special.
The NARS Laguna is such a generous size it can be used on both face and body. A warm, dark bronze shade, if your skin tone is pale it’s best to wait and use when sunkissed or solely as a contouring powder. On the flip side it’s the perfect powder if you’re into a super-bronzed, uber-glam St Tropez tan with a subtle shimmery finish and long-lasting colour. The staple monoi scent is made from the Tiare flower, native to French Polynesia where founder Francois Nars spent 10 years of his life, so naturally it holds a special place in his heart.
Guerlain Terracotta bronzers fall under the ‘cult beauty product’ category, having been around since 1984. This summer, they’ve been given a brand new smell. You’re probably thinking ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ but this subtle change in scent is possibly even more divine than the original. Wafts of jasmine and ylang-ylang evoke that summer breeze smell, tropical beach life and lazy days in the sunshine we all crave. 01 light blondes/brunettes are the more neutral for those with lighter skin tones who want to avoid the reddish, overly baked look.
