With your heart monitor in tow, it’s time to gear up for the FiTRX class, a combination of TRX with primal movements with some hardcore cardio. On arrival you’re asked to pick a motivational name out of 10 choices. I went for Tiger – graceful yet ruthless – and as  someone who works out quite often, I was feeling confident that it would improve my performance. Perhaps it was with the time of day (I’m definitely someone who excels in the morning) but I was surprised, both pleasantly and unpleasantly, about how much of a challenge FiTRX proved to be.

Seeing your “name” and progress up on the big screen is certainly motivating and pushes you to work harder – “Ace” was my biggest competitor and this clearly wasn’t her first time! Your goal is to keep your name in the red zone on the big screen as this burns the most calories. Once you find your balance on the TRX and stop rolling around, it’s clear why this is such an effective and popular workout – my core was feeling it the next day, stomach muscles cramping with every laugh.
