Salt of the Earth

the Antidote to... bath salt bewilderment

Take the confusion out of bathing – we discuss the subtle but important differences between epsom, dead sea, himalayan and magnesium bath salts.

A soothing bath is one of life’s essentials…and salts are IN, folks. We’re loving Westlab Super Salt+ with oatmeal to soften the skin, and lavender and camomile to relax and soothe.

But if the difference between Epsom salts, Dead Sea salts, Himalayan salts and Magnesium salts isn’t crystal clear (see what I did there?) the Westlab website offers some clarity.

Epsom salts are great for after-sport cramps and aches, drawing lactic acid from muscles.

A Magnesium salt bath boosts the mineral for those who are deficient, while Dead Sea Salt offers a lower intake, but also has calcium and potassium to repair and protect dry, itchy or eczema-prone skin.

Himalayan salt baths are wonderfully detoxing, with 84 essential minerals, but lower levels of magnesium than the others.
